9.4 How Notifications work
Many of the communication features of VOHeroes.com will be familiar to you if you have been active on any other social media platform, like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and so on.
One of them is the Notifications system.
When you have a notification, you may see two red numbered badges appear on the upper right hand end of the menu when you log in to our site.
One of those badges, the one over the inbox icon, is to let you know how many Messages you have. The other, over the bell icon, is to let you know how many Notifications you have.
In the screenshot below, Betty has 1 unread message and 1 notification:
Messages are pretty straightforward (it’s how many unread private messages you have had sent to you by other Pros and the coaching team), but Notifications show you all of the items you need to review since you last logged in, including replies to discussion threads you’ve posted to, comments on our articles you may have participated in, and everything else that the system wants to bring to your attention.
This notification system is in addition to being notified via email of activity on the site that is relevant to you.
To review your Notifications, every time you log in and you see that red badge, click or tap on the bell icon to drop a menu down with a preview of your notifications list.
You can respond to those notifications from there. As you read each one, the number on the badge will decrease. You can also mark all the notifications you have (and the Messages you have as well) as “read” (from “unread”) to remove the red badges.
There are, as you can see, lots of different ways to reach out, connect and communicate with your peers, your coaches, and the admin staff when looking for support. Now, let’s take a look at which ways of getting support are the most appropriate for each kind of issue you might be facing.
This is the first time that I managed to persuade my ego to take a back seat for once while I read the instructions for anything.
This time it’s how to use the Notification system properly.
Up until now (9 30 23 ) I had no idea how to go directly to wherever I needed to go to participate in discussions, etc.
Now that I am reading the and understanding the ” instructions ” , y’all look for me to show up and show out. Just taking me a little longer.
