12.4 How to know if you are ready to produce a specific demo
This can be a tough one, because we love all of our Pro members, no matter where they are on their journey…
…and no matter whether or not they are ready to make a demo.
As we said before, we won’t produce a demo until we all agree you’re ready. No “Frankensteining” together some set of recordings that you couldn’t possibly re-create in an audition.
So, we have a conversation. And it’s one that you start by asking (in an email or private message)…”Am I ready to produce a [category] demo?”
And we’ll give you our assessment of where we think you are: ready, or in need of some further experience and expertise.
We have frank, factual and kind conversations about where you are in your training, and what we think your next steps should be.
It might be that you’re more than ready. Or it might be that you’re in need of some further work.
But either way, know that we have your back. We want nothing but your success. And we’ll do everything we can to get you moving as quickly as possible, but…
…not until you’re ready.
If the conclusion we all reach is that you’re in need of a bit more work before spending the considerable time and money to work on a demo, you can take advantage of working on that category of scripts in your monthly Workouts.
You can also connect with one or more of your coaches, who all offer private sessions at reasonable rates. We’ll look at how to do that next.
