Show notes:

Hey there, hero!

I was given a great gift the other day: clear confirmation that I’m a genius.

No, really. And from a legendary sports writer!

Sports Illustrated’s Andy Benoit is quoted as saying:

“Most geniuses—especially those who lead others—prosper not by deconstructing intricate complexities but by exploiting unrecognized simplicities.”

How does that apply to me? Watch or listen to this episode. It’s amazing how well it fits.

Now…how does this apply to YOU? What do you do that you look at as an amazing time-saver, simplifer or un-complicator? Doesn’t have to be about acting or VO, but I’d love to hear your examples too.

I bet you’re a frickin’ genius as well.

Let me know in the comments below.

  1. It’s like Occam’s Razor for life… cut to the core. The less complicated the better. I often marvel at the mental gymnastics that some folks go thru. The gear and tools and learning curves. Most of my business runs on Google and Microsoft off-the-shelf programs. Drive, docs, Excel. Haven’t needed more. When I do, I’ll change. Stay GENIUS!

  2. I like this video, but you’ll forgive me if I channeled an old Bugs Bunny cartoon as I listened to it: “David H Lawrence XVII…Super Genius. I like the way that rolls out: David H Lawrence XVII…Super Genius.”

    I’ll show myself out…

  3. I just read a book called Return of the Lazy Dungeon Master, which is about running Dungeons and Dragons sessions with very little prep time. It talks about focusing on what’s important during prep and then improvising the rest during the session. I’m looking forward to putting it into practice.

  4. This is powerful and explains why I feel so much better after decluttering any space (digital or IRL).

And I think I might also be a bit of a genius because I already knew you were a frickin’ genius, my friend!
