13252: The Simple Math Around Taking A Shot

Hey there, hero!

So you want to try something new, or do something you’ve never done before, or finally get off your keester and create the first of something.

You might not realize how infinitely powerful that action is.

And I do mean infinite. I checked, and did so with people who are better at math than I am.

There’s a concept called “delta.” The delta of something is the difference between two approaches: if something is twice as good as something else, than the delta is 100%, or two times.

Pretty obvious.

But what’s the delta between doing something new and not doing anything at all?

Yeah. Infinite. Let’s unpack that in this episode.

  2. I love this “math” discussion and what Trevor has said also. It makes perfect sense to start something, to move in a direction, to choose in order to grow and to have a dream or goal realized.
    I heard long ago a few things that fit in with this discussion. “When the student is ready, the teacher arrives.” “When you make a decision and move into realizing it, starting towards it, the Universe lines up to help you attain it.”
    Looks like the trick is to decide and then take a step or two on the path and the rest of the journey will become obvious, when you’re open to it.
    And then of course, put your fear aside and the “what if I’m not……”.whatever that may be and just do it. Tere is power in motion, no matter how small.
