13136: Be The Casting Director’s Personal Consultant

Hey there, hero!

Actors and voice talent sometimes look to casting to help us clarify what they want from us.

And because they often don’t have that clarity, they make the mistake of going “wide” with their choices in their acting.

That’s a huge mistake. They try to be the most general, and less specific, so as to cover as much of the wide variety of options that that casting director might want.

Instead of trying to cover the waterfront, do what I share here in this episode.

Is it hard for you to make a specific, confident decisions when you audition for roles? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. David,
Great information! Sometimes the casting director is not sure of what he/she wants till you present it to them. Show them something they love and didn’t expect. Make the choice for them!

  2. Makes sense to me. Make and choice and double down on it. The worst that can happen is you get some direction involving a different choice. Then you double down on that choice instead.
