0078: Flipping A Coin To Make A Decision? Be Sure To Do One More Thing
Video:
Audio:
Show notes:
Hey there, hero!
Some decisions are easier than others. If you have several options, that may or may not be an easier decision that when you have just two options.
And no matter how many options you have, even if it’s just two, it may not be clear as to which of those options is the best…or if there even is a clear, best option.
I’ve got one of those “one weird tricks” that might be helpful, one that you can use when flipping a coin to make the decision.
You flip the coin…but then you do one more thing.
After you watch the video…try it. Did that make things easier? Let me know in the comments below.

sometimes when you’re faced with
two choices two sides of an issue a
choice between a and b one and two it’s
kind of hard
uh especially if they’re very even with
pros and cons you’ve made that list
anyway i’ve got a way to help you this
is going to be so cool and we’ll share
it if you could reach into your pocket
and pull out a coin
for this episode of the vo heroes
podcast
[Music]
yeah i wish i could reach into my pocket
and have a coin but the quarter that i
normally use to unscrew
uh the insert in the at2020s little cap
thing i don’t have it in my i just
checked uh my money don’t uh wiggle
wiggle it uh it folds
uh but i’d like to see you jiggle jiggle
for sure um
makes me wanna dribble dribble yeah
anyway uh okay so let’s let’s just say
you’ve got a coin
and you decide okay i can’t decide
between this or that i’m gonna flip a
coin
now
i’m gonna share something with you
that’s like kind of a one step further
thing do flip the coin but don’t make
your decision
based on whether or not it’s heads or
tails
flip the
coin see what the result is and then do
this
make your decision based on how you feel
about
the result
so if you’re thinking yourself okay i’m
gonna have this for dinner or i’m gonna
have that for dinner heads for this
tales for that
flip the coin
and
it comes up heads
how do you feel about that are you happy
about that
sometimes
we don’t
give ourselves the opportunity to
understand why we want one thing versus
another
and being able to just
experience the feeling of the result
can help you make the decision if you
feel bad about what came up
if heads came up you go i really wanted
tails well that helps you make the
decision right
and if it comes up heads and you really
like that that’s just awesome that helps
you make the decision so flip a coin but
don’t base your decision on the result
of the coin flip
base your decision
on how you feel
about that result
isn’t that weird it’s so cool i i’ve
used it
probably a dozen times in the last few
weeks
and it kind of makes me sad that i have
that many binary decisions that i’ve
been making and that my money don’t
jiggle jiggle anyway
let me know what you think in the
comments below does this make sense to
you and by the comments below by the way
