okay so I saw this thing it might have
been on Reddit it might have been on
Insta it might have been on Tik Tok I
don’t remember but the phrase was once
you start walking the view
changes and it may have been the view
changes once you start walking but it
really doesn’t matter cuz the message is
powerful and it ties into something that
I’ve spoken about before and I want to
revisit let’s do that on this episode of
the vo Heroes podcast
I checked during that little transition
it’s the view changes once you start
walking and the actual original one was
from a hiker who said The View changes
once you start hiking and it was all
about how the Solitude and the isolation
and the revery that you can sometimes
get when hiking which as you can see I
do all the
time uh
you you get benefit from that but it
changes as you move through and you’re
first starting off you’re getting the
lay of land and then you understand
what’s going on and then you’re kind of
seasoned at it and all that sort of
thing and it ties in with what we do as
artists as either actors or voice Talent
OR
writers as we progress through our
journey from I Don’t Know Jack to I
really am interested in this but I still
don’t know Jack to I Know Jack but I
want to get better at doing whatever I’m
doing to being a seasoned professional
at it the rules change just to take it
as as an
example when you start off your actor
hike right you’re just hoping you can
please the acting coach the the person
teaching you acting I’d like to get a
scene done where when we analyze the
scene afterwards I’m not being told how
how much work I need to do on my craft
right oh that was good that was a that’s
great and then you move on a little bit
maybe you start auditioning really
auditioning and you’d like to get some
auditions so if I could just get one
audition I’d be thrilled I can claim
that I’m a professional actor whatever
um after a while those rules and those
standards start to change as you move
through your journey uh you’re hoping
for a call back or you’re hoping for a
pin or uh some sort of uh affirmation
that the audition process is working and
then you’d like to get booked just once
just can I go home for Thanksgiving and
tell my people I’m going to be on
television or
whatever and then once you’re into it
again everything starts to change the
view is changing um you’d like to move
up the ranks or you’d like to get meteor
parts or you start to choose what you
want to do the rules constantly change
as you change going through your
journey and those moments sometimes pass
Us by we forget that when the very
beginning it would have been the world
if we could just get an audition or just
get approval from our acting coach later
on that’s something that’s kind of
expected and or is common and what
you’re looking for is some other goal so
be aware of that as you’re moving
through your journey as you get better
and better and better at performing on
camera or doing voiceover or audio book
narration uh the process will change you
the view Chang
once you start walking I love that
