And after a while, we tend to forget just how valuable that stuff is.
And…in addition…how valuable our superpower, creating great stuff, actually is.
This episode is dedicated to reminding you that your output is your product. Your books, your TV shows, your podcast episodes, your films, your audiobook titles…they are all worth remembering in your plans for both holiday promotion and promotion at other times during the year.

I just got off the phone with a client
who asked a really interesting question
is it ever uh too late can’t do it
anymore too late to promote something
that you’ve
created and it was an interesting
question and I want to talk about it in
this episode of the vo Heroes
podcast so this time of year we as
consumers start to think about the
holidays and purchasing power and what
are we going to get for gifts if at all
uh we start to think as consumers about
things and then we think oh wait I I do
products I make books I make you know uh
podcasts I do things that I sell maybe I
should offer them for Holiday sale and
holiday promotion and stuff and the
question that I got from my client was
is it too late are we too close to the
holidays and the bigger question is it
ever too late to promote something that
we’ve written or we’ve narrated or we’ve
been a part of that is you know maybe a
series on demand uh as an actor and the
answer is no you know I think people
sometimes think to themselves oh I
published that book or I did that
narration like a year ago or two years
ago and I didn’t really feel like
promoting it at the time or I didn’t get
around to promoting it or I did uh and
that’s over now so I can’t do it again
no no no no no hold
on you can always take a product and
relaunch it romote it uh remind people
that things have changed in the world
the way your product uh works in the
world may be
different um maybe there’s a new version
of it who knows but even the old version
even the one that you originally came
out with the book or the audio book or
the uh the podcast or the television
show or the film or whatever it is that
brings you to my doorstep to watch these
episodes you can always promote
again and I urge you to consider that
every so often to remind the people that
either have been following you for a
while and may not have gotten what you
created the first time around that it’s
available new people that have joined
your
uh you know your devotees in the time
since you produced that product and even
people who did pick it up when it first
came out telling their friends about it
you don’t have to think to yourself it’s
too late it’s
not uh so I ask you what do you have in
your Armory in your inventory what do
you have in your pantry that you can
look at and say Hey you really should
think about uh promoting this uh let me
know in the comments below uh hit the

Yes! This echoes what I’ve been learning. Folks in another community I’m part of are regularly encouraged to update existing products with new and improved content and features (often minor tweaks, and often simply repositioning it in the market to take new circumstances into account), then re-offer it—as often as once or twice a year.
All the creators I follow do this regularly (podcasters, coaches and teachers, musicians, painters, writers, etc)…
… batching existing products together for various promotions, releasing “limited time” special versions (like signed copies or collector’s editions), re-launching with bonus content (including new interviews, redeigned PDFs, or behind-the-scenes content)…
… or just a remind their audience and fans that their offering exists, especially around the holidays. It always works out well for everyone involved 😊

A while back I created a CD of the exquisite poetry and Sufi teaching tales of Rumi with music. It has since sold out and would cost too much to reproduce. I was wondering if it could be sold on my Rumi content based website. Thank you for this idea David.

Thank you David. I have recently been contacted by the lead author of On Purpose Woman… to join her global community. It is a place for entrepreneurs to show what they do. I have been questioning if this is the place to advertise the audiobook as, going back in time to its release there was not one word about it on this site. I’m going for it!
