Why You Should Take The Same Classes Twice
Photo by Jeremy Bishop on Unsplash
Hey there!
Taking classes once is an effort for some people. (You wouldn’t believe the percentage of people who sign up for my courses, pay good money, and then never take a class.)
But if you want results, your minimum effort requires that you actually take the class.
What you do with the information you learn after you take the class makes all the difference in your success. And one very easy step you have the option of taking is a real game-changer.
Hope this helps!
David

Project X Is Just About Ready. I’m A Bit Giddy.
Raw YouTube Captioning
hey there it’s David H Lawrence the 17th
and I wanted to share with you something
that popped into my head
as I was going through a tour of Project
X with one of the coaches we were
looking at the course area that I’m
building and it occurred to me because
of the way classes show your progress
when you take classes if it’s a
well-designed course if it’s a
well-designed
online class every lesson every topic
every subject that you watch take read
deal with maybe take a quiz about and
complete should count in your favor in
your progress meter right as you as you
watch that bar grow across the screen or
watch that circle fill in for your
progress so it occurred to me because I
happen to know how many people sign up
for my Pro Series and other classes that
I take and the ACX master class and
never actually take a course they never
actually attend the class watch a video
read a lesson they don’t and I get that
sometimes that’s part of it like for
example our summertime version when we
do it of the ACX master class it’s
designed to take at your pace and your
leisure and we know that during the
summer people are on vacation and they
have trips and they have other things
that they’re doing but at some point if
you want the results if you want to at
least have the opportunity to get
results from what you learn in a class
you have to take the class right and
some people don’t do it a pretty amazing
percentage of people don’t do it they
pay their money they sign up and they
check it off their bucket list as if
they’ve completed the course and the
danger there for me is that they don’t
even take the course and then they look
back and they go oh that wasn’t very
effective for me at all yeah because you
didn’t try
so
taking the course is one thing what you
do with what you learn is really what
makes all the difference because you can
you know watch the videos while you’re
checking your email and you know doing
other things and kind of have it on in
the background and it doesn’t really
stick but if you really pay attention to
what you’re doing and then you do
something with what we teach you that’s
gonna make all the difference as to
whether or not you’ll have any success
with what we teach at all but what
occurred to me is that there is one more
thing that you can do that you always
have the option of doing with our
classes with any other class there’s no
class in the universe that once you take
it you can’t take it again so what I
suggest you do and there’s a really good
reason why what I suggest you do is take
the class and even if you’ve got a lot
out of it wait a while and take the
class again now how long you should wait
who knows a day a week a month a year
whatever it is but go back and take the
class again and here’s why when you
first get information when you’re first
learning something in a class you really
can’t have any idea about the hierarchy
of importance like what am i watching
here that is really important
what am i watching here that is just
kind of adjacent material what am i
watching here that’s just you know the
teacher joking around what what is it
that is important that is really
interesting but after you’ve used it for
a while after you’ve gone through the
class and then tried to apply it for a
while then all of a sudden the framework
and the hierarchy of what’s important
what is necessary to you what you can
really use more in-depth training on and
so on becomes apparent and if you take
the class again there’s a very good
chance that you’ll find that what you
need more of is already in the class I
know when I design my classes I design
it with the idea of the person knows
nothing even if it’s an advanced class
and I bring them up to speed on certain
things and you tend to fly by those
things when you watch things first
but if you go back and take a look at a
class that you’ve already done and then
take it again all the way through as if
you’re a fresh student it’s amazing what
you pick up I actually had a
conversation with my client Chris who is
in the process of doing that right now
with all 36 classes in the pro
collection and he’s finding all kinds of
stuff that he didn’t see before and he’s
finding stuff that he thought about how
do I do that oh there it is there it is
in the class so my advice to you is if
you buy a class take the class for sure
do something with the class and then
after you’ve been working with the
information for a while take the class a
second third time take it again and
watch how cool it is to see stuff that
you didn’t see the first time or didn’t
remember seeing the first time that is
really useful to you is this new to you
is there something that you’ve done in
the past is this something what else
what other tips do you have for getting
the most out of classes certainly
getting the most out of my classes but
any class have you ever done that have
you taken an online class and then taken
it again let me know in the comments
below especially if you’re on vo to go
go comm soon with project decks I’ll be
giving you a different place to go but
leave a comment that’s where the the the
conversation is saying and moderated and
I’d love to know what your thoughts are
about classes and and taking classes and
buying classes and getting the most out
of those classes and if you’d like to
