The VOHeroes Courses
Enlarge this video to full screen by rolling over the bottom of the video frame, then click or tap on the four-corner icon at the far right of the toolbar. When this video is finished, click or tap on the blue Mark Complete button below to move on to the next step (if it’s gray, finish watching the video). If there is no button, you choose another topic from the list on the left.
Watch the video for the 30,000 foot overview of how we’ve put the course progression together, and then get more details below.
NOTE: This lesson contains content that may only be applicable to active VOHeroes Pro members.
The courses you’re enrolled in are available to you 24/7 here on the site. Feel free to access them whenever you want, and at whatever pace you prefer. Do note, that you will only be enrolled in courses that are open to your membership level. If you are not a Pro member, you will only be enrolled in open, free courses.
How you access courses
Just click on the Courses menu on the sidebar (if you’re on a computer). It looks like this when the sidebar is expanded:

And it looks like this when the sidebar is collapsed:

If you’re on a mobile device, use the hamburger menu at the top of each screen to reach the Courses menu:

What you get with courses
PRO ONLY There are 36+ courses in the entire VOHeroes Pro curriculum, and we add new ones when new art forms (voice over for mobile device apps, anyone?), websites, ancillary skills or other things pop up.
The courses are meant to be taken in a particular order (you can see that order when you go to the Courses page and look at all the courses listed). We begin with the basics, and build from there.
You can take the courses in whatever order you like, but we recommend you take them as listed on the Courses page.
Each course consists of a number of lessons, and in each lesson there can be topics (like this course has).
How to take courses
The Preview video
On the main page of each course, there is a preview video, so you can see what the course is all about. Just click on the play button above the words Preview this Course to play that video:

The Course Content and Course Materials
There are two main links just below the header: the Course Content link, which displays the lessons and topics for the course:

…and the Course Materials link, which contains any printable material associated with the course, like a summary or clips used in workouts:

Just click on the links to get the material itself.
Note: on the VOHeroes site, the PDF files we offer usually download immediately, rather than opening up in a new tab or window. They might do both, depending upon your browser, but we wanted to speed up the process for you.
The lessons and topics
In each course, start at the beginning, and work your way through each lesson and topic, then take the final exam at the end. Once you pass that with at least 80% correct answers, you can print out a certificate of completion to keep as a record, or display in your workspace.
Once you’ve taken a course, feel free to refer to the content of that course in discussions, to ask questions, to clarify in workouts and coaching the concepts presented, and dive deep into mastery of the topics.
Are you a VOHeroes Pro? Ignore the instruction to send in a clip
PROS ONLY As a Pro, you can safely ignore any instruction at the end of a course to email in a recording of a clip. That is a remnant still included in some courses that have yet to be updated for VOHeroes.com.
Instead of sending in a clip via email, you’ll gather your downloaded clip pages from any courses you’ve taken that month, and you’ll pick three. You’ll then work on those clips in your monthly workout.
Again, as a Pro member, there’s no need to email a recorded clip to us, instead, you’ll be working out live on those clips with the coach of your choice.
The click here links did not work for me.
Those are just pictures, Susan. When you go to each course, they will be actual links.
Since my first workout is scheduled with Trevor, should I “jump ahead” to the materials linked in Module 6, or can I bring some of my own animation copy that I just happen to have from a SAG-AFTRA Foundation workout?
Each and every course in the curriculum has copy that you can download. I’m not sure why module six is what you were looking at, but you should take the courses in order. Hope that helps!
I thought the same thing Susan. Was about to click-on and thought this is not an active prompt.
P.S . . . couldn’t help myself gave it a nervous little ‘click-on’ try anyway.
