First and foremost, the ERGO M575 is a testament to the reliability of Logitech's design. It's built to last and feels robust in hand. The smoothness of the trackball movement is a standout feature for me. Whether I'm working on detailed tasks or simply browsing the web, the precision and fluidity of the cursor control are remarkable.
The wireless connectivity is rock-solid, and I appreciate the convenience of not dealing with tangled cords on my desk. The battery life is impressive.
One of the aspects that has made me stick with Logitech trackballs over the years is their ergonomic design. The ERGO M575 fits comfortably in my hand and reduces strain during long work sessions. It's a relief for my wrist and provides a more natural way to navigate, making it perfect for both work and leisure.
Setting up this trackball mouse is a breeze, and Logitech's software allows for customization of button functions and sensitivity settings to tailor it to your preferences.
In summary, the Logitech Trackball is a testament to Logitech's reputation for producing reliable and user-friendly peripherals. If you've had positive experiences with their products in the past, this mouse will not disappoint. Its strong build quality, smooth performance, and ergonomic design make it an excellent addition to any computer setup. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone in need of a reliable and comfortable input device.
This is great for that. I chose it over the Ergo because it came in white, and while the plastic can get a bit dirty, it's not a deal breaker. It's wireless and uses an AA battery and a USB A dongle, which is way better than the micro-USB garbage the Ergo comes with.
It even works for gaming - I tried playing some Apex Legends with it and the latency was not noticeably bad when using the dongle. Of course you'll be limited using a trackball instead of a mouse, but in most situations it'll be fine. I've been playing Genshin Impact with this mouse for probably 300+ hours and it's absolutely great for a casual single player game like that, no issues with aiming.
The downsides would be that it doesn't have as many macro buttons as the Ergo, and the plastic could be a bit higher quality. In addition, I wish you could adjust the tilt angle like with the Ergo, but the default tilt will probably work for most people. Would recommend if you're on the fence about trying a trackball mouse.
Recently, my M570 started to not react favorably when in use. Double clicking when I was just single clicking. I use PhotoShop a lot, and DAW recording like Reaper and Pro Tools. When trying to raised the sliders on the on-screen mixer, it just wouldn't react right, and when trying to move tracks it would release when it shouldn't and overwrite a whole track that took hours to create.
By the photos, the M575 looked just like my M570, so I bought it. Believe me, it is not an upgrade. I thought going from a M570 to M575 meant a better, newer experience.
The plastic is very thin and even a cheaper quality. The ball is just cheap compaired to my big red marble on my 570.
Being a man, I did not read the instructions when replacing this new unit. My computer was off, I unplugged the USB receiver and put my M570 in the box the M575 came in. REMEMBER: Your new USB receiver is in the battery compartment!! Don't just pull the paper keeping the battery from making contact. Open the battery compartment and get your new USB receiver out.
When I tried my new M575, I had terrible lag, latency, and no response at times. Even when constantly moving it on my screen.
Here is the trick:
1. Remove your new USB receiver.
2. Pull the paper tab allowing the battery to make contact.
3. Push the little button to the right of your on/off switch until it is WHITE
4. With this light pulsing on and off, plug your receiver in you computer and turn on.
5. Your TrackBall and computer should now pair.
What I did wrong was allow mine to connect Bluetooth, and this was just awful for me. Once I paired via USB, it's much better.
My double=clicking problem is gone, and the cursor moves freely around. I'm still not thrilled with the overall quality of the ball or casing. My first hint should be when they stopped calling it "Logitech" and now "Logi". Obviously aimed for a budget friendly client.
Most likely I will see if there is a better quality TrackBall. For a few dollars more, for my use on a computer, I need good quality hardware. I did not skimp on anything on my computer or monitor build. I just feel that this is a dollar store type item compared to my other gear.
That said, we'll see how it holds up. I'm really behind on some recording projects due to my other problems. Perhaps I can catch up.
If I see anything positive or negative further with this TrackBall, I will update my review. Rarely I complain or leave negative feedback. I gave this 4 stars based on how easy it was to get running correctly reading the directions, and how it's currently working. 5 stars would have been a better blow mold of the plastic and a better mouse ball. I may try my 570 ball in this. This ball just seems like a big silver ping pong ball that's hollow. My red ball at least had some weight to it and may have been solid material.
Don't let my review discourage you if you do need a budget TrackBall. If you have the means, and require a better mouse pointer, I would look at spending another $20 for a better one than the M575.

The major difference between a trackball mouse such as this one, and conventional ones are that you don't need to move your hand/wrist at all with the trackball. You have full control with your fingers.
Highly recommended.
